First login

When your account is created you will receive a temporary password you can use to log in with over SSH. You will then be asked to set a new password yourself. This password will be used for most of our services unless specified otherwise.

Note: You will not receive any additional notification when your account has finished provisioning. You may assume that provisioning will be finished within 10-15 minutes after receiving your temporary password.

Manager

Many aspects of the shell service are configured through our custom system manager. When you're logged in over SSH you can access it by running the command manager.

Storage

The servers storage is split into two parts; The main storage where your home directory lives, and a cold storage drive for infrequently accessed bulk storage. You will have a coldstorage folder in your home directory that is linked to the cold storage drive.

Server storage
Main storage Cold storage
Storage type SSD HDD
Redundancy RAID-5 No redundancy
Backups Daily Weekly
Storage quota 10 GB No quota

Containers

You can run OCI (docker) containers on our server. We use podman to implement a (mostly) docker compatible runtime.

Open ports

See the Ports page for which ports can be used to expose custom services.

Services

See the Services page for a complete list of our default and additional available services.
